Center for Spatially Integrated Social Science
The Center for Spatially Integrated Social Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is funded by the US government’s National Science Foundation.
CSISS seeks to develop unrestricted access to tools and resources that will advance the spatial analytic capabilities of researchers throughout the social sciences.
The Center’s website is organized around eight headings:
core programs;
learning resources;
spatial resources;
spatial tools;
search engines;
CSISS events; (...)
CSISS Spatial Tools search
Housed on the Center for Spatially Integrated Social Science website, the CSISS Tools Clearinghouse is intended to grow into a robust collection of spatial analysis software, software links, and links to information about tools for spatial analysis.
The key link in the clearinghouse page is to a database of spatial tools (database of URLs and software archives compiled by Luc Anselin including over 700 individual software titles). It searches a subset of the Spatial Resources on the (...)
Spatial Resources on the Internet
Housed on the Center for Spatially Integrated Social Science website, Spatial Resources on the Internet is a comprehensive search database containing thousands of reviewed sites relating to spatial approaches in the social sciences.
Currently there are over 35,000 pages included in this index.
Literature Search of Spatial Analysis in the Social Sciences
CSISS maintains a user-searchable database, currently containing over 10,000 bibliographical references that feature applications of Spatial Analysis techniques in the Social Sciences.
The database is updated at least once a year. The search terms used in developing the database (http://www.csiss.org/resources/litsearch-class.htm) were derived from literature in the following areas:
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Map Making and Visualization
Spatial Econometrics
Spatial (...)
AI-GEOSTATS
The AI-GEOSTATS website is supported by the European Commission Joint Research Centre. It includes a searchable list of around 95 software applications. Links to downloadable versions of the software packages are provided. The list can be listed alphabetically, searched by keywords, or by category.
The categories are:
1. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) 2. Analysis of the spatial distribution of Point Dataz 3. Analysis of Geostatistical Data
4. Analysis of Lattice Data
5. (...)
Environmental Protection Agency Global Warming Resource Centre Software resources
Set of links maintained by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Interactive software applications are available online to measure and analyse energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions and evaluate emission reduction opportunities. The software applications presented vary greatly in complexity, scope, and intent. A brief description of each is provided to help the user select one that meets his or her (...)

Inventur
A database presenting details of urban models in a pre-defined standardised format.
The database is the fruit of a study undertaken under the Inventur (Inventory of urban models) research programme coordinated by Daniel Siret, of the CERMA research centre in Nantes, France. This programme, undertaken within the framework of the CNRS research programme Management of models and know-how - urban applications, which created a survey instrument and a typology of urban models, of all kinds. (...)
Describing and Cataloging Computational Models
This site presents a Metadata standard for computer models developed by the National Centre for Geographical Information and Analysis in the USA. It is known as the Content Standard for Computation Models (CSCM) and was developed for the purpose of the incorporation of computer models into digital libraries. The latest version of the standard was published in October 2001. It specifies the information content of metadata about the content, quality, condition, and other characteristics of (...)

CamDeus: Cellular Automata Models to Design Environmental and Urban Systems
Creation date: 2002
The CamDeus program is a software inspired by a coupling: raster GIS technology and cellular automata. It is dedicated to the simulation of urban dynamics and can be used to test scenarios of territorial development, according to the past states of the territories or to political planning. It is a stand-alone software with user-friendly interfaces, conceived to be handled by persons who do not necessarily totally master the mathematical principles of the [hyp184; models] (...)

RamCO: An integrated assessment tool for sustainable coastal zone management
RamCo is the first prototype of an information system, which is to evolve eventually into a Generic Decision Support System for the Integrated Assessment of Sustainable Coastal Zone Management problems. The ultimate aim is to develop a system that will be applicable for the purpose of (1) rapid assessment, to (2) a wide range of coastal zone management problems, in (3) most of the coastal zones of the world. RamCo was financed by and is a product of the National Institute for Coastal and (...)

SimLucia: climate change and dynamic land use planning in St. Lucia
A decision support system for the vulnerability assessment to climate change and dynamic land use planning in St. Lucia, West Indies
The long term objectives of this project are to develop a methodology and operational procedure applicable on the level of the individual coastal country or island
(1) to describe and analyse the impacts of climate change on their territory, their ecosystems, their social systems and their economic activities,
and (2) to provide instruments or tools to design, (...)
WadBOS: A policy support system for the Dutch Waddenzee
WadBOS is an information system offering support to policy makers actively involved in the Dutch Waddenzee. It features an integrated model representing the ecological and the economic functions of the sea.
The Wadden Sea is part of a coastal system extending from the North of the Netherlands into Northern Germany and Western Denmark. In the Netherlands, the sea is a protected nature reserve because of the important ecological functions that it fulfils. At the same time, the sea has (...)
