LIBERGEO Research Group
The Modelling Group (Groupe Modélisation) is a part of the French research council (CNRS) funded LiberGEO research group. It provides an arena for the scientific exchange and cooperation on the theme of spatial modelling.
The group is founded on the principle that as long as intellectual property rights with respect to models are respected, all research benefits as much from exchanges about the concepts and hypotheses as from the exchange of algorithms and software.
The group wishes to (...)
CamDeus: Cellular Automata Models to Design Environmental and Urban Systems
Creation date: 2002
The CamDeus program is a software inspired by a coupling: raster GIS technology and cellular automata. It is dedicated to the simulation of urban dynamics and can be used to test scenarios of territorial development, according to the past states of the territories or to political planning. It is a stand-alone software with user-friendly interfaces, conceived to be handled by persons who do not necessarily totally master the mathematical principles of the [hyp184; models] (...)

RamCO: An integrated assessment tool for sustainable coastal zone management
RamCo is the first prototype of an information system, which is to evolve eventually into a Generic Decision Support System for the Integrated Assessment of Sustainable Coastal Zone Management problems. The ultimate aim is to develop a system that will be applicable for the purpose of (1) rapid assessment, to (2) a wide range of coastal zone management problems, in (3) most of the coastal zones of the world. RamCo was financed by and is a product of the National Institute for Coastal and (...)

SimLucia: climate change and dynamic land use planning in St. Lucia
A decision support system for the vulnerability assessment to climate change and dynamic land use planning in St. Lucia, West Indies
The long term objectives of this project are to develop a methodology and operational procedure applicable on the level of the individual coastal country or island
(1) to describe and analyse the impacts of climate change on their territory, their ecosystems, their social systems and their economic activities,
and (2) to provide instruments or tools to design, (...)
WadBOS: A policy support system for the Dutch Waddenzee
WadBOS is an information system offering support to policy makers actively involved in the Dutch Waddenzee. It features an integrated model representing the ecological and the economic functions of the sea.
The Wadden Sea is part of a coastal system extending from the North of the Netherlands into Northern Germany and Western Denmark. In the Netherlands, the sea is a protected nature reserve because of the important ecological functions that it fulfils. At the same time, the sea has (...)
